    An abridgement, with preface by Cyril C Richardson, Professor of Church History, Union Theological Seminary, of "The Bible Designed to be Read as Living Literature", as edited and arranged by Ernest Sutherland Bates. Decorated boards with imitation leather at the spine, gilt spine decoration, five shallow spine bands. This is volume 33 in the "Collector's Edition" series of various books, including classics in literature, reference books, drama, art, and more. The series was issued with semi-uniform bindings (the patterns on the paper boards / endpapers vary), otherwise uniform. About 6.5 inches tall, 461 pages, the endpaper decoration matches the cover pattern.
